The Strengthening Partnerships, Results and Innovations in Nutrition Globally project (SPRING), is a seven-year cooperative agreement funded by USAID. This project is “dedicated to strengthening global and country efforts to scale up high-impact nutrition practices and policies.” During my work as a Knowledge Management Officer for the SPRING Project, I helped share the accomplishments of various teams’ public health work around the world by writing blogs, assisting with social media, and teaching photography basics. Although it was a large transition from covering immigration and the U.S.-Mexico border region to writing about public health, it was a great experience because I was involved with meaningful projects that aim to make a real difference in lives, and learned a great deal about the importance of public health in development.
